Welcome to MEW's
Jewels Vintage Ring Gallery! Many of the selections come from the
Sarah Coventry line most of which are adjustable in size. You'll
find many unsigned, signed and hallmarked pieces as well. Genuine
stones, crystal, plastic, glass and rhinestones, gold-washed, gold
plate, gold filled, rhodium plate and sterling silver are examples
of the various materials used to manufacture these timeless rings.
Rings may be worn on any finger or the thumb. It's imperative that
you know the sizes of all your fingers as some styles lend
themselves to a particular finger with regard to size of design and
size of shank. A simple way to determine your sizes is to take a
piece of string to wrap your finger with and note the length. There
are many resources available online to translate your size. I did a
search of "ring sizing string" and came up with a great number. As
an example, size 7 measures 2 3/16". Conversion charts can also be
found online for European sizes. All sizes noted in MEW's Jewels
listings refer to the American size.
You will want to
consider the profile of the ring as well because some designs are
just meant to be gazed at and not engaged in cleaning, key-boarding
or the like! Rings are an important accessory for me as I wear at
least two rings, one on each hand, daily. I frequently take them off
for a variety of activities including working with polymer clay.
It's very handy (no pun intended) to have a ring keeper to hold your
ring or rings. The one I use constantly is a crystal one with a
round base and a post about 3" high which keeps my rings safely
until I'm ready to put them back on. I keep one at the kitchen sink,
bathroom, art studio and bedroom. Be sure to check out MEW's Jewels
