Vintage Coro 1930's-1940's Duette
Brooch / Dress Clips
This is a well loved duette pin which
converts to separate dress clips by a patented Coro
mechanism from 1931. The patent and trademark are both
stamped on the back of the duette frame. Coro Duette in
script and PAT. No. 1798867. The design is set in a
silver colored metal, but is not marked sterling.
The bright smooth finish leads me to believe it is
rhodium plated gold gilt on the front surface. I
believe the flower to be a nodding trillium. The flowers
are pave set with clear rhinestones with most having
darkened to some degree. None are missing. The gold gilt
leaves are convex and are perforated where the vein
would be. The high points of gold finish are worn. A
single sapphire blue glass navette rhinestone is set at
the base of each stem. The tips of the stems have gold
finish wear. All the attachment mechanisms are in
excellent visual and functional condition.
